Imitating Christ
In 1 Thessalonians 1:6-8, Paul tells the church,
"And you became imitators of us and of the Lord, for you received the word in much affliction, with the joy of the Holy Spirit, so that you became an example to all the believers in Macedonia and in Achaia. For not only has the word of the Lord sounded forth from you in Macedonia and Achaia, but your faith in God has gone forth everywhere, so that we need not say anything."
The church was imitating Paul who was imitating Christ. And that influence went from just them, to their immediate region, then it went "forth everywhere." You could say that their influence of faith reached all parts of the world. And it all started with Paul who was following Christ.
Our day-to-day living for the Lord may feel insignificant to us. We may think that our impact on the world for Christ my seem secluded. But it only takes one, who can then impact one, who will then impact one. Do you see how that works?
So stay faithful. Keep at it. But be sure that you are following Christ, so that those who see and want to imitate you, are actually seeing and imitating the Lord.
